Machiyama

Machiyama is a place where anyone can freely enjoy knitting with old green fabric and clothing items donated by local residents. The pieces knitted by the participants in their own styles gradually fill up the space. The title is taken from the name of a local handicrafts shop, which closed over fifteen years ago. Machiyama creates a textile “forest” in the community through the act of rethinking handicrafts.
