Doing the Unintended

一種のアクションリサーチとして、「やるつもりのなかったことをやってみる」のテーマに基づき、問いを設定し（小さな問い、個人的な問いでもかまわない）、どこに行くか、何をするか、なぜそれを選んだかを明確にしつつ、そこで見たこと、聞いたこと、感じたことを自分なりの方法で記録して発表する。フィールドノート、スケッチ、民族誌エスノグラフィー、映像記録、フィールドレコーディング、身体記憶……など、調査の方法や記譜法自体を作り出すことも目的の一つ。単に「〜をやってみた」という面白さで完結せずに、目的、仮説、手法、結果、分析・考察、などについて言語化を試みる。

As a kind of action research and based on the theme of doing what you did not intend to do, students come up with a question to explore (it can be small or personal), explain where they will do, what they will do, and why they chose that, and then record and present what they see, hear, and feel through the methods that work best for them. From fieldwork to sketching, ethnography, video documentation, field recordings, and muscle memory, one of the aims of the assignment is to create survey and notation methodologies. Rather than concluding simply with the novelty of trying something new, the assignment also involves a process of verbalizing the goals, hypothesis, methodology, results, analysis, and discussion.
