NISHINARI YOSHIO

西尾が、大阪市西成区山王にあるkioku手芸館「たんす」に集まる地域の女性たちとの共同制作により、2018年に立ち上げた西成発のファッションブランド。地域の女性たちによる予想を裏切るアレンジや発想の飛躍、西尾が考えるイメージとの齟齬など、予期せぬズレをコンセプトの一つに、作業着＝日常を生きるための服を提案している。

NISHINARI YOSHIO is a fashion brand initiated in 2018 by artist Yoshinari Nishio in collaboration with local women who gather at the Kioku Shugei-kan Tansu space in the Sanno area of Nishinari Ward, Osaka. Presenting work clothes for everyday life, it focuses on the unexpected mismatches arising from their surprising arrangements, their conceptual leaps, and the discrepancies between theirs and Nishio’s ideas.
