Circle, Triangle, Tilde

寺子屋「れきはく」は、国立歴史民俗博物館にある江戸時代の学校のようすが体験できるコーナー。文様を自在に楽しむ江戸人の遊び心に着目し、歴博のロゴマークを単純な形態に分解した「マル」「サンカク」「ニョロ」の三種類をさまざまに組み合わせて120通りの文様＝ユニフォームを作った。

Terakoya Rekihaku is a part of the National Museum of Japanese History where visitors can experience an Edo-era school. With a focus on the playful spirit of Edo people who liked to have fun with patterns, uniforms for the space were made featuring 120 designs created by variously combining three elements (circle, triangle, and tilde) distilled from the museum logo.
