Machiyama

1 / Concept

The installation space opens to everyone who wants to gather together and knit sweaters, scarf and so on out of green old split clothes and materials collected from citizens. Participants feel free to come and knit something whenever and however they like. The title of Machiyama was named after a nearby handicraft store that was closed over 15 years ago. The Machiyama promotes them to reconsider about the handicraft, and creates the forest of textile in the town.
